This weekend, BinaryBots started to gear up for their competition this coming week! The team focused heavily on putting the final touches on Chairman’s, the standard, and the robot itself. During the competition anything can happen, so we decided to take precautionary steps and construct a safe driver’s station. We sanded down a piece of long wood and mounted on the joysticks using zip-ties. While that was happening, we took the robot outside to get some practice in on the various defenses. We succeeded on the drawbridge and initial runs of the Portcullis; however, our practice was cut short as the arm mechanism came loose off the base. As we did not want to risk any further damages to the robot, we took all of the practice materials back inside. Simultaneously, other team members were finishing our team standard by sewing the cloth together. Overall, the team has made great progress as the competition comes around the corner.
